Architecture Modeling with UAF (Unified Architecture Framework), UAF Workshop

Architecture Modeling with UAF (Unified Architecture Framework), UAF Workshop. With UAF you can Capture your Architectural Vision. Build reliable, well understood systems using UAF 1.0 and Enterprise Architect
Incorporated within Enterprise Architect 13, the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) provides support to specific frameworks, such as DoDAF, MODAF, UPDM, NAF and others.

Support of UAF is is built into Enterprise Architect, with provision to migrate up from UPDM 2.1

The Unified Architecture Framework Profile (UAFP) 1.0 (Beta 1) is also implemented within Enterprise Architect’s support of UAF. Full functionality for UAF is automatically available to all end users with a valid UPDM plug-in or Enterprise Architect Suite Edition license.

Learn about:

Replaces the Unified Profile for DoDAF & MODAF (UPDM) Ver. 2.1.
Easily migrate existing models from UPDM to UAF.
UAF model templates with context-sensitive modeling to maximise productivity.
Model Validation to help ensure consistency and correctness.
Easy navigation of architecture diagrams in the dynamic Model Views window.
Dedicated UPDM Toolbox.
Out of the box support in Enterprise Architect - no separate download required

Course Objectives:

Create architectural models for complex system-of-systems, which may include hardware, software, data, personnel and organizations.
Define consistent, accurate architectures with clear separation of concerns to describe services, systems, operations, strategies and capabilities.
Analyze, specify, design, and verify system models using appropriate levels of abstraction.
Employ a rigorous, standards based approach to defining and exchanging architecture information using UML, XMI and related standards.

Course outline:

Overview of Object Management Group® (OMG®) Standardization
Introduction to Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
Working with Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
Introduction to Unified Architecture Framework Profile (UAFP)
Scope UAFP 1.0 – Unified Architecture Framework Profile (UAFP)
Developing Models with UAF and UAFP

Because of increasing complexity and rising costs, it is important to ensure that systems that are being developed can talk to each other and meet the overarching capabilities that they were intended to achieve. UAF architecture models provide a means to develop an understanding of the complex relationships that exist between organizations, systems, and systems-of-systems and enable the analysis of these systems to ensure that they meet the expectations of the user community.

Renewable energy

Renewable energy is making its move. Eighteen percent of all electricity in the United States was produced by renewable sources in 2017, including solar, wind and hydroelectric dams. That’s up from 15 percent in 2016. According to data released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), by the end of 2017, global renewable generation capacity increased by 167 GW (gigawatts) and reached 2,179 GW worldwide. This represents a yearly growth of around 8.3 percent, the average for seven straight years in a row. According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Department of Energy, renewable energy is important because of:

Root Cause Analysis For Supervisors, Learn RCA Best Tools and Methods

What is Root Cause Analysis? Root Cause Analysis is acronymic as RCA. Unlike other methodologies, root cause analysis (RCA) is in general more successful when there’s a small, focused team involved in looking for answers. A root cause analysis is an approach, process used to discover the primary source of a problem. RCA has become a popular methodology for companies stern about resolving issues that negatively impact their bottom line. Why Root Cause Analysis For Supervisors ? It’s not bizarre to have a supervisor lead an RCA team comprises of communication staff, research staff and personnel from the department or departments being affected by a serious problem. How to Conduct Root Cause Analysis ? The main goal of RCA is to identify the root cause of the problem. The first and possibly most important step is to identify possible causal factors.  The RCA team should set the vision, identify the problem and collect as much data as need to better understand the situation. That data...
